Located 15 miles north east of the French Saint Barthelemy island, the Caribbean island of St Martin / St Maarten is part of the Lesser Antilles, The northern part of the island forms the French "oversea collectivity" of Saint Martin while the southern half is the Dutch island territory of Sint Maarten and is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
