Agassi "High" On Tennis Courts

Oct. 28, 2009 - The American tennis player Andre Agassi, winner of eight Grand Slams, reveals in his autobiography "Open" that in 1997, when his career went into decline, he used crystal meth (methamphetamine) as a stimulant during games.

"I can not talk about addiction, but many people would say that if you use something as a way of escape, you have a problem," said Agassi in an interview that can be read on People website.

In "Open", as the book is titled, Agassi recounts how he began taking drugs, his troubled marriage to actress Brooke Shields and how he eventually found love with his current wife, German tennis player Steffi Graf.
